Subject: Labor implications of June 11, 2026
Dear clients,
Please be advised that June 11, 2026, is not an official mandatory rest day under the Mexican Federal Labor Law. The suspension announced through the decree published in the Federal Official Gazette on June 9, 2026, applies to classes and administrative measures for government offices. It also includes a recommendation for the private sector to implement flexible work arrangements or remote work for non-essential activities, but it does not establish a general mandatory rest day.
Therefore, unless there is an internal agreement or an applicable provision stating otherwise, employees in the private sector are required to work as usual on that day, and their salary shall be paid in the ordinary manner, without any additional payment for a mandatory holiday.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or require further clarification.
