Labor Scope of the June 30, 2026 Decree

Dear clients,

Please be advised that the Federal Government issued a new decree in connection with the match to be played by the Mexican National Team on June 30, 2026 in Mexico City. The decree establishes administrative measures intended to facilitate mobility and the proper development of the event.

Among other measures, the decree provides for the suspension of classes in Mexico City and the implementation of remote work arrangements for Federal Public Administration agencies, except for essential activities. The private sector is also encouraged to implement, whenever possible, teleworking schemes or flexible working arrangements.

However, it is important to note that June 30, 2026 is not a mandatory rest day under the Federal Labor Law. Therefore, employees in the private sector are required to work as usual, unless the employer, at its sole discretion or pursuant to internal policies, agrees to implement flexible or remote work arrangements.

The corresponding salary must be paid on an ordinary basis, and there is no obligation to pay any premium or additional compensation, as this is not one of the mandatory rest days provided under the Federal Labor Law.

Please let us know if you have any questions or require any further clarification.
